TransportiCA Reporting from the 9th Annual "Innovation and Impact" Symposium (19 June)

This year’s summit focuses on emerging technologies in advanced mobility and clean energy.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – With its mission to advance systems thinking and the Triple Bottom Line, the California Green Academy (“CalGreen”), and its sustainable transport blog “TransportiCA,” are proud to report from the ninth annual “Innovation and Impact Symposium” (“Symposium”), occurring this Wednesday, 19 June. First organized in 2011 by Prospect Silicon Valley, the Symposium focuses on emerging technologies in advancing mobility, energy, and the built environment. With 2019’s theme being, “Transforming California with Clean Technology,” and with California’s landmark commitment to renewable energy, this year’s event highlights the progress of innovative projects, and how these projects are transforming the State. TransportiCA, however, will be reporting from the Symposium’s “advanced mobility” sessions (schedule below).

TransportiCA is incredibly excited to report from the Symposium, given the passage of 2018’s S.B.100, and the State continuing its ambitious clean energy and transport agenda,” said Greg Justice, TransportiCA founder, and CalGreen’s Chief Sustainability Officer. Keynote and featured speakers include (all pictured below): Jared Blumenfeld, J.D., California’s Secretary for Environmental Protection; the honorable Kevin de León, President pro Tempore Emeritus, California State Senate; Laurie ten Hope, Deputy Director for Research and Development, California Energy Commission; Mark Platshon, MBA, Managing Director and co-founder, Icebreaker Ventures; as well as, Ruth Cox, CEO, Prospect Silicon Valley.

The Symposium takes place this Wednesday, 19 June, from 08:30-17:15, at San Leandro’s Zero Net Energy Center. The full agenda can be viewed here, TransportiCA’s live tweets can be viewed @TransCAEvents (with the hashtag #innovationandimpact), and all reports will be filed later on TransportiCA. Founded in May 2015, TransportiCA is CalGreen’s flagship program (blog), focusing on the promotion of sustainable transport.
